My English is bad, my French even worse!

I’m olli from Germany. I can understand most of your posts but I don’t master your language good enough to write entirely in French. I’ll write in English, if you don’t mind.
I’m very interested in Offshore Powerboats but I can’t afford one at the moment. So I spend my time reading about those boats. Unfortunately the big magazines only feature the major French builders like Jeanneau, Beneteau or Guy Couach. Now I hope to get an insight in the French go-fast-scene via this Forum.
I’m also searching for information (and pictures) on some older French hulls. I would appreciate if someone could help me for info on the ACX 41 (the pleasure version and Michel Bonin’s Gepard), Setton Bullit and the CMN 15-60. If you are looking for info on a specific go-fast, please don’t hesitate to ask me. Will try my best to help.

Cristophe! Thank you so much for posting the ACX pics!! I've been looking for them for many years. Do you know what happend to Michel Bonin and Decibel Performance? I heard he had a Prototype Gepard 41 ready using the same Xavier Joubert hull design? Here are some pics of it in the building process:

Thanks again for posting all those pics!!! I really hope you can fullfill your dream and save this masterpiece from rotting away! I hope its much cheaper than when it was new. I remember I saw some prices in "Moteurs et bateaux" back then. The ACX was more expensive than a tripple engined Scarab 43 .
The pictures I posted earlier don't show the ACX but the prototype of the Gepard. Michel Bonin wanted to redesign the deck but it looks pretty much like the ACX. He sent me the pictures about 5 years ago. Never seen it again. However another French Dealer told me about 3 years ago that the prototype was completed and that Bonin was experementing at St. Tropez with the set-up.

I have a short video (10Min., German version) called "Entre Mer et Ciel", a tribute to the Crew of Colibri. Nothing special but at least you see the ACX at full speed. PM me your adress and I will send you a copy.

is it build in france? and where, when have you got some date?
i m very intersting about the gepard have you got other pictures of it or about the acx?

Michel Bonin ran (runs?) "Decibel Performance" in St. Tropez. He was a dealer for McManus Apache and Comanche, Douglas Marine and Cigarette. I met him at Boot Düsseldorf some years ago. I asked him for a brochure of the Gepard and he sent me the prototype pics I posted above and a (short) data sheet saying this:
"This boat is a French creation and it's going to be sold in limited quantity for a few owners only. The concept is holding speed, new design and new technology.
Length: 12,50m
Beam: 2,40m
Material: High Perf Composite
Displacement: 4 tonnes
Engines: 2x700hp
Transmissions: Mercruiser SSM6
Fuel capacity: 1000 litres
Naval architect: Xavier Joubert
Styling and layout: Michel Bonin"
I will post an article about it from an English magazine later plus other pics of Colibri but I'm pretty sure you have them all.

have not found the other article yet. However while searching for it in my old magazines I've noticed that "Neptune Yachting"mag tested the ACX 41 in their issue n°55 (in '88 or '89). Perhaps it is possible to get a reprint of that. If you can get that I would share your expenses.
